Toledo Pickle, LLC announced the construction of its new riverfront pickleball and entertainment facility in the heart of Toledo’s Vistula District.

The facility, part of the newest expansion of Metroparks Toledo’s Glass City Riverwalk development just north of downtown, offers top-of-the-line amenities for pickleball enthusiasts of all levels and a variety of entertainment options for guests of all ages.

The facility will feature professional-style pickleball courts, along with a destination restaurant and a range of recreational options, such as rock-wall climbing, cornhole, shuffleboard and tournaments. Entertainment options will include music, boat docks and live concerts.

“We are thrilled to bring this world-class pickleball and entertainment facility to the Toledo community,” said Brian Epstein, from Toledo Pickle. “Our goal is to provide a fun and welcoming environment for pickleball players and entertainment-seekers alike, and we believe our facility will become a hub for socializing, competition and enjoyment.”

Toledo Pickle's facility will be open year-round, offering 10 indoor and two outdoor pickleball courts to accommodate players in any weather. Additional features include:
• Open recreational play for new to advanced players, with spectator areas.
• League play, as well as regional and national tournaments.
• A pro shop offering equipment sales and rentals.
• Teaching professionals offering individual and group lessons.
• Online court scheduling.
• Multiple membership options for exclusive benefits.
• Private meeting rooms which can be rented for corporate retreats, team-building programs, family get-togethers, birthdays and celebrations.

Mike Gibbons, former president and CEO of Mainstreet Ventures will oversee Toledo Pickle’s restaurant and bar. Gibbons has long been associated with Toledo’s riverfront developments.

Toledo Pickle worked alongside the City of Toledo and Metroparks Toledo to secure the location at 1030 Water Street and implement a long-term, sustainable development plan, Epstein said.

“Metroparks Toledo is excited to be working in collaboration with Toledo Pickle, as it will occupy one of the historic Vistula District’s largest buildings and be an exciting addition to the Glass City Riverwalk,” said Matt Killam, chief outreach officer at Metroparks Toledo. “The most important aspect is that this vibrant new business will be transformational for Toledo and specifically the historically underserved Vistula neighborhood and will further the mission of the Metroparks Toledo.”
